Connoisseurs Jewelry Wipes 25 Wipes

June 15th, 2010

Works great! – A. Streiff – Duluth, MN
When I first got this jar, I kept getting the urge to wet down the wipes (they are supposed to be dry). I think I’m just so use to wipes in these kinds of containers to be wet and heavy. I had a pair of silver earrings that had tarnished very badly and were in much need of some TLC. I pulled out a wipe and rubbed the earrings down with it. These wipes even removed the tarnish in the delicate hinge areas. The size of the wipes is not very big, but you don’t need a huge one to get the job done. One single wipe will go a long way.

Works perfect, 5 Stars all the way!

I have found this to be and average webcam. this webcam mic is not very good, but if you have an internal mic on laptop turn your mic off on the camera and it work great that way. This cam has good picture. I would recommend to anyone that is looking for a cheap webcam.

Does China Lack Innovative Thinking?

June 7th, 2010

Image : http://www.flickr.com

Many people in the United States believe that we can become the innovators of the world, and China will go ahead and make everything that we design. The Canadians also have an interesting theory on that, they want to make all their workers “knowledge workers” and let all the manufacturing jobs go to China. This way Canada and the United States hope to keep the high-paying jobs here, and allow the low-paid jobs to go to China where they make everything.

That is one of the most naïve things I’ve ever heard in my entire life, and all the university professors, and know-it-a-all economists that came up with this scheme are clearly in my opinion “nuts” if they believe that. Okay, that was probably too harsh, but I believe they are living in “La La Land” if they really believe this.

You see, the Chinese have a number of spies in both the US and Canada, and they are extremely good imitators, copiers, and decent at industrial espionage. From some of the declassified CIA papers, and some of the things I’ve heard at seminars on business intelligence, it has been estimated that there are no fewer than 6000 spies from China and the United States right now.

They are busy gathering up information, and they’ve already announced that they want to build their own Airliners to compete with Boeing, and they actually have already produced one of their own now, and although it’s a small airliner, it’s still an airliner, and that’s a start.

China also wants our general aviation industry, and several other industries, including automotive. Now, some folks say that China lacks innovative thinking amongst their population, but they seem to be pretty sneaky and innovative as they borrow all of our technology, and many of the concepts.

Further, in observing many of the designs that their University Students are coming out with, well, they look pretty innovative to me. Anyone that thinks that the Chinese cannot become great entrepreneurs, or innovators is crazy; they already are, wake up.

The Cultural Significance of Gold in China

June 6th, 2010

Image : http://www.flickr.com

The composition of the socially transmitted patterns of beliefs, behaviours, institutions and all other products of human work and thoughts is called culture. It refers to the attitudes and behaviours that characterize the functioning of a group or organization. Different states bear different cultures. It is characterized on the basis of region, religion and the customs, followed by the ancestors.

The culture of china is very complicated. Chinese civilization is one of the oldest civilizations of the world. It is a country of huge population. Its culture covers a vast wealth of information; their language, arts, beliefs and other cultural aspects. It is a place where the customs are practiced and admired from the core of the heart, even in this modern world.

There are many colours in the Chinese culture that are considered auspicious or inauspicious. These colours include red, black, green, white silver or gold. These colours symbolise various feelings and environments; thus, carry a significant place in the Chinese culture. The red colour is the colour of good luck. It is mostly used on the festive occasions and is strictly prohibited at the funerals as it relates to the happiness. Black is a neutral colour, used in daily life, but it is associated with the funerals to symbolise mourning. Green colour is associated with health and prosperity. Whereas white colour, in spite of its purity, chastity, holiness and cleanliness, is worn on deaths.

Last but not the least, gold itself and its colour has a lot of significance in the culture of China. It is a symbol of good luck. It is the colour of the attires of the emperors. Attires were the costume worn by the ancient Chinese emperors. This dress was the symbol of Chinese ancient empire.

Gold colour is also used as mourning colour for Chinese Buddhist, especially the deceased monks. Monks are of great importance in the Chinese religion. These are the people who live alone and practice the religious asceticism.

Moreover, gold is also used in the dragons. These dragons are the mythological symbol in the Chinese culture. They stand for happiness, immortality and procreation. Chinese worship the dragons; these dragons are the most popular of the Chinese art decoration. These are sculptured on the stone pillars of the temples. They are also embroidered on the beautiful gold and silk wall-hangings.

Chinese also wear dragon masks at various incidents like parades. They are complex and have gold or red colour in it. In such festivals, the person wearing the golden dragon mask dances ahead, and the tail is made by the other people dancing behind it.

Apart from the religion and art, gold has been a part of the Chinese currency. A company in 1987, namely Mint, was established. This company deals with the Chinese commemorative coins. It has utilized 2 million ounces of gold bars since its development. The contribution of this company to the culture of China is to develop the coins, sculptured with the designs that depict a particular event. It may have contained the design of a dragon on it. Thus, gold carries a significant importance in the Chinese culture.

All About Homemade Jewelry

June 5th, 2010

Image : http://www.flickr.com

Homemade jewelry brings a few things to mind. The first one is a kid version with cereal strung on a loop; the second is an assortment of beads and jewels looped on a variety of materials. There are lots of ways that you can make jewelry yourself or find homemade jewelry to buy. The benefits of homemade jewelry is that you may be able to design it yourself, pick the beads and style and know that it was made with care.

There are many people who pride themselves on making homemade jewelry. They might have started doing it as a hobby or living out a passion, and turned it into a viable business where people pay them to make necklaces and bracelets. Making jewelry can range in price from fairly cheap to pretty expensive, depending on what kind of materials is picked.

For the professional homemade jewelry maker, they might have taken some courses on design before they started their business. There are lots of courses, workshops and certificates aimed at giving people the knowledge they need to know about color, texture and design patterns. This information can help someone who plans on selling their jewelry by giving them the mental tools they need to succeed.

The professional might be approached by a customer who asks for a specific type of jewelry. The jewel crafter needs to know exactly what the person is talking about in order to sound professional and get the sale. Helping the customer plan out a design and color pattern based on principals and academic knowledge can help them win over the jewelry buyer`s heart.

There are some jewelry makers who have not been formally trained but however make the most spectacular pieces of jewelry. And that is because making jewelry is also an art that sometimes doesn’t need to be learned. For example some famous painters and writers never took any formal training but were able to perfect their art through trial and error and visions. The jewelry maker can also do just that, by transforming thoughts and visions in to works of art.

Experts who design and make jewelry themselves can provide people with all sorts of jewelry. From casual, to elegant and from playful to classy. They can literally custom design one to fit your need, taste and budget. Some homemade jewelry is made with extreme care and consideration. Some buyers purchase their goods from all over the world, finding beads and materials from worldwide known artists and suppliers. Professionals who take pride in their craft and business will be constantly bending and stretching their mind, art and talent to provide the best in jewelry making.

For those who would like to start making jewelry as a craft or hobby, you can pick up jewelry making supplies at craft stores and specialty bead stores. Once you get started you can refine your craft by reading books, checking out the internet and taking a few courses.

Once you make a few pieces, you can even try selling them as well. Making jewelry can be a huge business with the right marketing strategies. You can even hire a small marketing company to get your name and designs out there.

Whether you`re planning on making jewelry yourself or just want to know more about the craft, there are lots of information out there to use and discover. Jewelry is always more fun when it is homemade.

Chinese Astrology Forecast for China in 2007

June 2nd, 2010

Image : http://www.flickr.com

In the communist nation, someone would publicly say no. Though this person might be a party member, he/she’s even more likely from outside the party.

The Chinese astrology I-Ching trigram that represents China in 2007 is ‘Lu’ with its third stroke changed from last Chinese astrology year. Once again, it means an imbalance of Yin and Yang energy. Lu trigram has a connotation of an adventure around midnight. An “adventure ‘could be an imperative due to the situations; could be part of a strategic plan; or could be simply a thoughtless impulsive act. As the change occurs on the third stroke, this ‘adventure’ could be quite worrying. Disputes and anxiety come from either one of the following suppositions:

1. The social changes or reformations in the communist party give rise to disputes and conflicts. As people have different extremist views, they cannot reconcile their differences easily. This is the most probable cause.

2. Some unknown diseases spread throughout the country.

3. Lu trigram also has a hidden ‘Kui’ trigram, the fifth stroke of which says, ‘Hatred and death; exchanging words and hurting each other; go; what can go wrong?’

The poem can be roughly translated as ‘those with familial relationship suffer together.’ Or it can be interpreted as ‘close friends and relatives dragging each other into troubles.’

What is Chinese astrology I Ching?

The I-Ching is the world’s most ancient known book and earliest intuitive decision-making concept of any wisdom. It is typically consulted by tossing coins or yarrow stalks. The way the coins fall corresponds to one of 64 patterns of change derived from the profound wisdom of the ever-changing dynamics of the yin and yang principles.

Changing Lines in the Chinese astrology I-Ching hexagrams are the part of an I-Ching that always provide the most powerful prediction about a situation for they mean the elements that are making things to happen to change right now.

The odds are against casting a Changing Line (about the same as tossing 3 coins and having all 3 come up heads). But most castings of an I-Ching hexagram (i.e. six line form) do produce one or more Changing Lines.
